The Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons has granted Accreditation with Commendations to Onslow Memorial Hospital’s cancer program, which includes Onslow Radiation Oncology. Currently, less than 25% of hospitals in the country have earned this distinction. This accreditation is awarded to top cancer programs that ensure patients receive:
In order to maintain and receive accreditation, facilities must ensure its patients have access to the full scope of services required to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and support patients with cancer and their families. Facilities also go through regular evaluation to reaffirm its level of program care.
In addition to Accreditation, Onslow Memorial’s Cancer Program met the Commission on Cancer’s commendation level criteria for five of the standards.
